Alternative Ways to "See" the Solar Eclipse August 21

Eclipse Soundscapes Logo

There was a recent article explaining how¬†people who are blind or visually impaired will be able to visualize the solar eclipse on August 21! Although these people won’t be able to literally see the eclipse, they will be able to enjoy it just like everyone else.

The Eclipse SoundScapes Project, created by NASA, will include audio descriptions of the eclipse as it is happening. There will also be recordings of changing environmental sounds during the eclipse, as well as a “rumble map” that will allow users to “feel” the eclipse. Each of these features will be available on the Eclipse Soundscapes Project app. The app will expand to include future eclipses as well, allowing individuals who are blind or visually impaired to experience these super cool events!
